Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why video?
A. Why not, next question. Just kidding. A wedding film or a wedding video is truly the only medium that can capture the whole story that makes up your wedding day. Every single emotion, every single moment, every single aspect of you, your family and loved ones. Your day goes by so fast and even the best of us forget things as time passes by. A wedding video will preserve all these wonderful moments in time forever. The people and places, laughter and speeches, dancing, kissing and hugging -they will all be there long after your flower girl grows up and starts to drive. All those special moments in our lives with those amazing people who makes us who we are. Those moments that time quietly steals away over the years, that's why video.

Q. What is the difference between a wedding film and a wedding video?
A. A wedding video is a more "traditional" documentary account of the day. The final dvd is typically 1.5 to 2 hours and includes the ceremony in its entirety as well as the key points of the reception and various other package specific segments. A wedding film is something truly different and unique. It's for all the rockstar brides and grooms out there. It is an epic cinematic version of your wedding told through the eyes of our award winning wedding film makers. By far our most popular option.

Q. Do you travel or offer destination weddings?
A. Yes, we offer destination wedding films on select packages for events that require travelling by plane. For something a bit more local, details can always be worked out, just ask. Have camera will travel.

Q. What if I want something that I don't see listed on your packages or website?
A. Ask us if we can accomodate you. Chances are we can. Technology is always progressing and we are constantly trying new ideas to make our process better for you. And who knows, you might be the first one to think of a brilliant idea, so ask us. Then we shall steal said idea and claim it for our own.

Q. Do you have a back up/emergency plans should something happen?
A. Yes, the very nature of our wedding videography and wedding film packages require back up equipment. In addition, I always have a videographer or wedding cinematographer available on standby should something serious happen to me or my assistant.

Q. Do you use lights?
A. Of course we use lights, but they're not those glaring solar beasts you may have seen in other videos. We use lights much like any other film maker uses lights. To create a mood or enhance the beauty of our story and to give you the best possible wedding video or wedding film possible."

Q. Are you reliable?
A. Turning Point Productions is a proud member of WEVA (wedding event videographers association) as well as the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce. We are, in fact, the exclusive video production company for the chamber and that's not something they just hand out to some guys off the street. In addition, we are pleased to announce that we have been rated by local brides and voted The Knot Best of Weddings 2011 Pick."

Q. How long after my wedding will I receive my DVD?
A. Our wedding dvds are generally completed within 16 to 21 weeks from the date of your wedding.
